Burke Returns & Bond is Back in Bangor

NEWS

New England Fights (“NEF”) returns with “NEF 64: Call to Arms” on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The card will feature a full lineup of mixed martial arts (MMA) and kickboxing bouts. Tickets are available now at www.TicketMaster.com.

Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional light heavyweight matchup: David Burke (0-1) vs Logan Bond (0-0) at 205 pounds.

Prior to turning pro, David Burke was already a familiar face in the NEF amateur ranks, earning a lightning-fast 19-second victory over David McCarty (2-5) at NEF 47 in May 2022. He followed that up with a first-round finish of four-time Maine state wrestling champion Ryan Fredette (0-1) at NEF 48 in July 2022. The final fight of Burke’s amateur run was an unsuccessful grueling contest against Devin Corson (5-1) for the NEF Welterweight Championship in September 2023 at NEF 54.

Burke last competed in the NEF cage at NEF 56 in February 2024, where he made his professional debut in a hard-fought contest against Jeff Reynolds (2-1). Although Burke fell short via rear-naked choke, the bout was an unforgettable display of tenacity and skill, with both athletes drawing blood and showcasing remarkable heart and determination. After a lengthy layoff and a determined search for the right opportunity, Burke is ready to make his return and reestablish himself on November 8.

“November 8, the people’s main event is back,” Burke said. “NEF has always taken care of me and I’m happy to be back for another scrap. There’s a lot of dorks in this game playing pretend fighter and padding their records, but not me. I want a war. I’m challenging myself by competing in a third weight class. It’s been a struggle finding opportunities, but I’m thankful someone has signed a contract to fight me finally. My goal from this point forward is to make anyone who steps into the cage with me go through something they will never be able to forget. I want every one of my opponents to look back at our fight as the worst thing they have ever had to go through. As always, expect violence and blood!”

Facing Burke is Logan Bond, a standout from Ascension Athletics in Connecticut. Bond steps into the professional ranks with a 4-3 amateur record and two previous appearances in the NEF cage. Notably, Bond shares a common victory over David McCarty and holds a win against current NEF heavyweight champion Brandon Oldenburg (3-3) at NEF 54 in September 2023. With his professional debut on the horizon, Bond looks to make an immediate impact and continue his success in the NEF cage.

“It’s been too long since my last fight, so I’m excited to get back in there with a high-level opponent,” Bond said. “This is going to be a damn good fight!”

“NEF 56 proved David can compete through adversity—he stayed composed in a demanding fight,” said NEF co-founder Matt Peterson. “Logan returns undefeated in our cage, with a résumé that includes a win over current NEF heavyweight champion Brandon Oldenburg. The matchup is balanced and timely. It’s a high-value test for both men in Bangor.”

“NEF 64: Call to Arms” takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first fight at 7 p.m. Tickets are available now at www.TicketMaster.com.
