135 TITLE ON THE LINE AT 69

NEWS

New England Fights (“NEF”) presents its next event “NEF 69: Crossfire” on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The promotion returns to the arena portion of the venue for the first time since May 2025. The event is scheduled to feature both mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and kickboxing bouts. Tickets are on sale now at www.TicketMaster.com. The event is being brought to Bangor by Long Coast www.drinklongcoast.com.

Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur MMA bantamweight title fight to the card. Eric Checinski (3-1) will put the NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship on the line against Jayce Murphy (2-1).

Eric Checinski represents American Top Team out of Florida. He began his MMA career in the spring of 2024 and competed in his first three fights in the Sunshine State. Checinski came to Maine for his first out-of-state fight at “NEF 67” last June. On that evening, he captured the promotion’s amateur bantamweight title with a unanimous decision victory over former champion Ezra Butler (5-3). The fight with Murphy will be Checinski’s first defense of the belt.

“Fighting in Maine was electric and I’m excited to come back and compete in front of another sick crowd,” said Checinski. “Big respect to (NEF co-owner) Matt (Peterson) and everyone involved for another opportunity to showcase my skills and leave with my belt. See you soon, NEF!”

At 6’3,” Jayce Murphy is one of the tallest competitors at bantamweight in the country. He made his amateur MMA debut at “NEF 65” in May 2025. Murphy’s only loss came to a much more experienced Qasim Abdullah (5-4) earlier this year. Both of his wins in the NEF cage have come by way of first-round submission. Murphy is the hometown favorite in this fight, competing out of nearby Young’s MMA.

“Man, I am excited to be fighting for the bantamweight title November 14,” exclaimed Murphy. “I’m happy to add this fight as another steppingstone in my MMA career. I am glad it’s back in Bangor where I had my first fight back in 2025. Getting this experience in the cage and in life is something not a lot of people can say they’ve had. I’m very glad NEF gave me this opportunity and I won’t disappoint!”

“NEF 69” takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Doors will open at 6 pm with the first fight taking place at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at www.TicketMaster.com. The event is being brought to Bangor by Long Coast www.drinklongcoast.com.
