BOYINGTON TO PUT CAREER ON LINE

NEWS

New England Fights (“NEF”) presents its next event “NEF 69: Crossfire” on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The promotion returns to the arena portion of the venue for the first time since May 2025. The event is scheduled to feature both mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and kickboxing bouts. Tickets are on sale now at www.TicketMaster.com. The event is being brought to Bangor by Long Coast www.drinklongcoast.com.

Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional lightweight MMA bout to the card. Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (19-15) will meet Gerald Meuse (7-3-1) with Boyington stating that he will retire if he loses the fight.

“This fight is one we have been trying to make for some time now,” noted Boyington. “As much as I love hitting someone in the face that deserves it, like ‘The Party’ from Florida, he just did everything to avoid signing a contract because he’s scared. So, Gerald Meuse is the next best thing.

“However, I have a lot of respect for Meuse, and I believe he too lost his mother not long ago. He’s a military man like myself, and I’ve spoken with him on occasion outside of trying to book this fight. It was all cordial.

“With that said, make no mistake about it: he’s from one of the best camps this country has ever seen—Mark DellaGrotte and Sityodtong. They produce some of the best fighters, and so does Titan Athletics (Boyington’s gym). So, the crowd is in for a treat, because not only will you get to watch a great professional fight, but there are several of the best fighters this state has ever seen all on this one card in Bangor, in the Cross Insurance Center.”

The fight takes place on Veterans Day weekend and brings together two military veterans: Boyington served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and Meuse served in the Army National Guard.

Boyington has had a long, storied career in the NEF cage. He won the promotion’s professional lightweight title in 2014 and successfully defended it three times prior to vacating the belt to join global promotion World Series of Fighting (WSOF).

Boyington has fought at Madison Square Garden in New York City and as far afield as Penza, Russia. Still, he says he’s especially excited for the upcoming NEF 69 card.

“In my opinion, this is the biggest card Bangor’s ever seen, perhaps the biggest New England Fights has ever put on,” said Boyington. “If anyone has followed the fights since its inception here in Maine, they know exactly who’s on this card. Many of us used to all train on the same team. Life changes, people grow, opportunities present themselves, and now we are all in our separate places. But on November 14th, we are under one roof and putting on the best, most entertaining night you can find anywhere in New England.

“As I said before, I know a lot of people look at fighting as either a win or a loss, but in that cage, in front of thousands, you’re not just trying to be victorious. You’re (at least me) trying to entertain, which means taking risks to wind up underneath someone as strong and athletic as CJ Ewer. And so, with that and the fact that I walked into that cage at 168 pounds—and I imagine he, near 185 at least—I lost that night. However, this one, I’m not; and if I do, I will retire, because this one’s a bit more in my hands, and I’m not letting it slip. And I do plan to tap back into my old Taekwondo style with some work with my old instructors Jamie Smith and Danny Clifford, Jr., and my primary team at Titan Athletics.

“For the record, I have the utmost respect for CJ: great family man, military man, and a respectable guy. But, if he takes advantage of Ed Davis trying to strike with him, takes him down, Ed’s a different guy, a different approach, and much bigger naturally. That won’t happen to him, so I’m pumped for my man Ed Davis to finally be called a champ with the rest of us! Let’s fucking go!”

Gerald Meuse has become one of the most popular and entertaining fighters in New England in the last few years. Meuse is known for coming to the cage in his Captain America gear and performing choreographed dance routines with his corners who are usually also dressed in Marvel Comics-inspired costumes. Meuse went viral in 2023 by scoring two submissions via the rarely seen Twister hold – the second of which occurred at “NEF 52” in Portland, Maine.

“Bangor, Maine. November 14th. Bruce Boyington vs. Captain America. Two veterans. Two New England fighters. One cage. I’m no stranger to hostile territory, but I’ve always had a knack for winning hearts and minds. And with an opponent who fights as hard as Bruce, I’ll have one hell of an opportunity to do both. So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… before Santa Claus comes to town, Captain America is fast-roping into action. November 14th. Let’s get to work.”

“NEF 69” takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Doors will open at 6 pm with the first fight taking place at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at www.TicketMaster.com. The event is being brought to Bangor by Long Coast www.drinklongcoast.com.
