FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bangor, Maine (October 14, 2023) – New England Fights presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 55: Glory Days” on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the card. Curtis Ouellette (3-5) will meet Joe Peters (2-4) at a fight weight of 175 pounds.
Curtis Ouellette has been active in NEF since his amateur debut the spring of 2018. All eight of Ouellette’s previous fights have been contested in the promotion’s cage. Having produced some of the most exciting fights in NEF over the last few years, he has three knockout wins to his credit. Ouellette challenged for the NEF Amateur Welterweight Championship at “NEF 48” last year which resulted in a loss to Kyle Hill (1-0 pro). He currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based in Lewiston, Maine.
“I’m excited to be back in front of the NEF crowd once again,” said Ouellette. “I’ve been in the gym every chance I get preparing to return and I can’t wait for my fist to do the talking November 11th.”
Joe Peters has been one of the most active fighters in all of New England since the COVID-19 pandemic ended. This will be his eighth trip to the cage since October 2021. Three of Peters’ previous fights have taken place in the NEF cage where he holds a promotional record of 2-1. Both wins have come by way of knockout. Peters represents Karasu Tengu Academy of Nashua, New Hampshire.
“I know this guy is a scrapper and likes to have a good old fist fight,” said Peters. “Well, ladies and gentlemen, I can say you will be getting a fist fight!”
