New England Fights presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 55: Glory Days” on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the card. Connor “Buckets” Morrill (2-4) will meet PJ Crawford (0-0) at a fight weight of 140 pounds.
Connor Morrill will make his fourth appearance in the NEF cage this year. He started 2023 off in Bangor when he faced Julian Sirois (2-0) at “NEF 51” last February. He went on to face William Lagasse (2-1) at “NEF 52” in the spring. Most recently, Morrill defeated Hannon Sanford (1-5) by unanimous decision at “NEF 54” last month. Morrill represents Karasu Tengu Academy based in Nashua, New Hampshire.
“Back again for another banger,” exclaimed Morrill. “I’m excited to bring some fireworks for what I hope to make a hat trick this year. I hear PJ’s tall like Jack Noone, so that will be interesting. I just hope it doesn’t turn into some lame high school wrestling match. I want the fans to see another fight of the night even if I don’t get the award. That’s what I go out there to do — put on a show and give good action people can be excited for. I hope he brings the same energy!”
PJ Crawford will make his amateur MMA debut at “NEF 55.” He won a Maine State Championship in 2014 wrestling for Penobscot Valley High School in Howland, Maine. Crawford currently represents Young’s MMA based in Orrington, Maine.
“I am super excited to step inside the cage,” said Crawford. “It has been a long time dream and I am excited to go against a game opponent who’s already had a few goes. I will bring all the pain for making me skip a few meals.”
“NEF 55: Glory Days” takes place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Doors are scheduled to open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm. Tickets to “NEF 55” are available now at www.ticketmaster.com.
