FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bangor, Maine (October 4, 2023) – New England Fights presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 55: Glory Days” on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur bantamweight bout to the card. Julian Sirois (2-0) is scheduled to meet Jonas Ryerson (1-1) at a fight weight of 135 pounds.
Undefeated Julian Sirois made his amateur MMA debut at “NEF 47” in the spring of 2022 with a unanimous decision win over Chris Stout (0-1). He returned at “NEF 51” last February with another unanimous decision victory over Connor Morrill (2-4). Sirois, who won a Maine state title wrestling out of Skowhegan Area High School, used his wrestling base to dominate both fights. He represents VisionQuest Muay Thai based in Pittsfield, Maine.
Jonas Ryerson comes to the cage with an even record of 1-1 in NEF. He first appeared at “NEF 45” in November 2021 with a loss by technical knockout to RJ Janeczek (2-0). Ryerson would rebound in the summer of 2022 at “NEF 48” with a knockout of John Marcley (0-1) a mere ten seconds into the first round. Ryerson currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) based in Lewiston, Maine.
“If he thinks he’s going to hold me down on the mat for three rounds straight, he’s in for a long night,” said Ryerson.
“NEF 55: Glory Days” takes place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Doors are scheduled to open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm. Tickets to “NEF 55” are available now at www.ticketmaster.com.
